Infinite Potential Workshop Series Presents:
Ebb and Flow: Yoga Transitions and Bandhas Workshop
with Kristen Coyle, E-RYT 500
Saturday January 28th
12:00- 3:15 p.m.
This workshop is part of a monthly drop-in series that has a different focus each month. A full spectrum practice will be explored, this month’s emphasis is on: Forward bends, arm balances, inversions, and hip openers. This offering is an inspired, alignment based exploration of creative yoga sequencing, transitions, how to utilize the bandhas, pranayama, and mantra. A transition is the dynamic movement between statically held postures. Learning and refining yoga transitions allows one to invoke a moving meditation by embodying continual flow. Exploring transitions gives one theopportunity to move into asanas from several different approaches. This helps demystify the more complex postures and refines the essential alignment points within the Vinyasas. Bandhas are the internal locks that stabilize the physical structure and, on a deeper level, offer an internal focal point to bind ones consciousness to (sense withdrawal). Utilizing the bandhas properly in yoga postures creates physical and mental stability, deep core strength, and float in the asanas and transitions from pose to pose. For intermediate and advanced students.
